Holidays To Cuba On The Rise
In the first quarter of this year holidays to Cuba rose by 5.3 percent, it has been reported, the highest such rise in a number of years. This is symptomatic of a trend which has been increasing of late – visiting Cuba.
While many Brits are all too familiar with the Spanish resorts on the Balearic Islands or the Canary Islands, many have yet to discover Cuba, which offers the same uninterrupted sun and sand, but with a splash of rum and the scent of cigar smoke thrown in for good measure.
Last year alone the island nation saw 2.7 million visitors, some coming to stay at the island’s many resorts, others longing for a taste of Havana. Over the last few years the government of Cuba has instituted the Authentic Cuba promotional campaign, which has advertised the attractions of the country at various tourism events all over the world.
Cuba has much to offer, not least of all its idyllic climate. One of the most popular resort locations on the island is in fact on another smaller island – Cavo Largo. Cavo Largo is located to the east of the main island of Cuba and features miles of undiscovered beaches and is teeming with local wildlife.
The city of Havana itself is also no doubt a major factor in the increasing popularity of Cuba as a tourist resort. There is a huge range of things to see in the city, including the old city portion of Havana with its Baroque architecture and wandering streets.
Discount family holidays to Cuba can be had easily online these days and are certainly worth trying out for those who want to get away from it all.
